Etude House Satin Fit and Cashmere Fit Single Eyeshadow // Review + Swatches

Etude House has recently released a new line of single shadows, the Satin Fit as well as the Cashmere Fit. The Satin Fit are shimmer eyeshadows while the Cashmere Fit are matte. Both lines offers 15 new shades, and is also made in Italy. I paid $7.90 each for 2g of product.

I resisted buying a lot more since the rational part of me says to buy only 3 shades. Thankfully I absolutely love all the colour that I bought!

The first colour that I was drawn to, is this beautiful muted rosy shade that looks stunning as a standalone lid colour. It blends beautifully and stays all day long with a concealer or a primer underneath.

The second colour that caught my eye, is a super fun shade that I hardly ever buy. It is a shimmery dark violet with super light purple sparkles, it almost look like a duo-chrome! This one requires just a little bit of extra work, still very beautiful nonetheless.

Last but not the least, I picked up a brick brown shade. I dare say that they improved the matte shadows formula, this one feels even more luxurious than their previous line!

Etude House singles never fails me, most shadows are always so silky soft, not chalky and so pigmented. Get this if you’re interested because you will not regret!

I will definitely be getting more in the future, and will update this post once I have new colours to play with! Thank you for reading xx

CATRICE Contourious Collection // Swatches + First Impressions

CATRICE has just released a new contouring collection, the Contourious Collection, the moment I saw these I knew I had to get it since I do not have much contouring products. I picked up a few that caught my eye!

The first product that I wanted to get was the Sculpting Powder Palette. There are 2 colour selection, one for lighter skin and another for medium skin tone. I picked up the lighter one, C01 Pale Perfectionist. It includes a highlighter, blush as well as a contouring shade.

Sculpting Powder Palette - C01

I love the highlighter as it is a really subtle cool icy shade, a very toned down shade compared to Colourpop’s Flexitarian. The blush is too pink for me, it goes on a little patchy as well so it is a pass. The contouring shade though, I love! I hate looking orange and this does not do that to me. It is pretty neutral, perfect for shading.

I actually do not have any cream contour products at the moment, so I decided to try the Contouring Cream Palette. The texture is very creamy, almost to the point of just being waxy. It does not dry down completely thus this is more suitable for people with dry skin.

Contouring Cream Palette

I have oily skin, I powder my face anyway thus I think it will stay on quite well for me. I will wear this on days without foundation for a natural look as it sculpts my face beautifully. I blend this in with the contouring brush which I will talk more about next!

I am confident that I’ve finally found my favourite contouring brush, so much so that I will buy a back-up if I happen to see it again. It is pretty short which means it is travel friendly, it fits into any pouch that I have. The bristles are so soft, I don’t want to stop using it lol. The density of this brush makes it super easy to blend the cream contour out like a dream.

I use the 3CE Stylenanda Magic Touch Face Maker to contour my nose and this brush makes it easier because of how slim it is. The concept of this brush is similar to the NARS Ita brush. Get this brush if you use cream products, it won’t disappoint!

*Update: The silly me forgotten to take a photo of the brush!! T_T But I think it is pretty self-explanatory from the above picture!

The last product I picked up is the Lip Contour & Colour in C01 Nude. It is definitely a dupe colour wise, for the Kylie Lip Kit in Candy K. A more affordable dupe would be the Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk in BE109.

Lip Color & Contour in C01 Nude

It comes with a matte lipliner which I use to fill in my lips, then layer on the matching lipgloss. Surprisingly, the lipgloss is not heavy and is just a little tacky. My hair does get caught though, after all it is a lipgloss. The gloss adds a bit of a shine that helps to plump your lips!

I am so happy I like everything I got! Even though CATRICE is an affordable brand, it still sucks if I spent money on something that I will not end up using. I saw this at Guardian today, if you do see it when you’re dropping by the drugstores, be sure to check it out!

3CE Studio Mesh Foundation in 002 Natural Medium Beige // Review + Swatches

3CE Studio Mesh Foundation in 002 Natural Beige
I recently just discovered a new favorite cushion foundation hence I am sharing it with you today! It is the 3CE Studio Mesh Foundation and I've been wanting to try it ever since it was launched, I finally bought it when they had free shipping!

This foundation has a larger cushion puff than most Korean beauty brands such as Etude House or Innisfree, which is great for people on the go as this helps the application process to be faster. The downside to this though, is that is harder to reach the corners, but folding the puff into half will help.

Upon my first application, I notice that it instantly brighten my skin with just one layer. I would say the coverage is light to medium, depending on your skin condition. It is pretty buildable though, but it may cake up from the third layer onward so use it sparingly.

With one layer.

I love this foundation as it is so lightweight, hence the perfect cushion for everyday use. It conceals my pores as well as my blemishes so well that I find myself using less powder for that extra coverage.

I actually wore this foundation to Shinefest @ ION Orchard to see Jessica, and omg I was sweating buckets expecting my makeup to be gone yet the foundation was still intact and perfect on my face which was so surprising. It really does live up to its long lasting power claims.

Also, if you're afraid that of sticky foundation, this is actually not too bad. It is a little tacky if you were to layer it up, but it is nothing too crazy to worry about.

One layer on

Finished makeup. i forgotten to put on lipstick lol! Did an outfit change too.

After a long day of wear. Pores and redness are showing through a little.

The only flaw to this cushion is the super limited color selection. It is understandable since it is a Korean beauty brand, however 3CE is gaining more international recognition so I hope that they rectify the problem soon to reach out to a more diverse crowd.

I have combination skin and has no problems with this cushion, I usually just touch up around my forehead with a little bit of No Sebum powder from Innisfree. It clings onto the dry patches on my jaw area, so be sure to exfoliate first!

Allure Cosmetics Satin Lipstick and Matte Liquid Lips // Review + Swatches

Allure Cosmetics is an indie brand based in Singapore and the Philippines. I first saw this brand on Instagram and I wanted to support a local brand, so I purchased one matte liquid lipstick as well as a satin lipstick with my own money. They were having a promotion to buy both at 21SGD so I managed to save some bucks too.

Allure claims that their mattes are long lasting and light weight. I’ll give them that, they are truly light weight and is not sticky at all. They do take a little longer to dry down to a full matte finish though, however this is not an issue for me.

I tried layering them and it started getting a little streaky, so try to perfect your pout on the first try! Also, exfoliate your lips and moisturise them with a balm first as this may dry your lips.

Matte Liquid Lipstick in Poppy Red

The satin lipsticks claims that it is a seed oil based lipstick that moisturises your lips with semi-matte finished. It has a creamy formula with shea butter scent.’ It is quite heavily scented but thank god it goes away instantaneously after applying on my lips.

In addition to the semi-matte finish, it is also very pigmented with just one swipe! It makes the lipstick application process such a breeze. My lips do not feel dry after a long day of wearing too.

Satin Lipstick in Orchid
These lipsticks are priced reasonably, on par with Maybelline and L’Oreal. The downside is that you do not get to test these before purchasing. I took the risk and I love using both of them! They are definitely value for money. However, if you are planning to only get one, I suggest getting the satin lipsticks.

They are more affordable than the mattes, priced at $15SGD with 3.8g of product, and is pigmented with just one swipe. You do not have to worry about your lips drying out, or your lipstick getting streaky touching up throughout the day.

Personally, I would love to try more shades of the liquid lipsticks especially Lotus! They are priced at $21 each with 4.5g of product, which is pretty reasonable compared to The Kylie Lip Kit ($23.30SGD with 3.25g of product).

Let me know in the comments section below what is your favourite indie brand! Thank you for reading xx
